The city has some of the best sights you will not want to miss when you travel over to Bangkok. It has such great history with such places like the Grand Palace and many other sacred Temples. Thailand has a rich history and it boasts several historical sites such as the Rattanakosin area. Not only is Bangkok a great tourist city but it has brought thousands of people who now reside there. Even expatriates have set up jobs and homes for them selves in this very populated city. People have even come from all over Asia to retire there; they experience a life of ease and very much enjoyment. Even the male foreigners have said they have found a new lease on life once they visit Bangkok.
There are also Wats and Palaces to see when traveling to Bangkok. The Bangkok Metro area is home to two different capitals, the Krung Thep which is the official name of Bangkok and the Thon Buri. These historical sites can be found on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. The river connects to the Wat Arun Wat Po which is home to the reclining Buddha. The Buddha is about 46m in length and about 15m in height and it is made from pure gold. There are three Palaces in the Bangkok area, in one of them the Royal Family lives, that is called the Chitralada Palace. The exterior looks like an old time castle complete with a moat.

In the middle of the city is the Grand Princess Hotel, it is located more in the business part of the city. This 30 story building has the lobby on the 15th floor and you can see the city’s skyline perfectly from there. Bangkok’s tallest hotel is the Banyan Tree which is located on Sathon which is part of the Westin Hotel chain. This hotel has the tallest bar and restaurant in the city. There are other less expensive hotels in the area and there are hostel type places are located.
If a day of shopping is what you are looking for then you have come to the right place. Bangkok has many markets and bazaars. There are weekend market places where you can get great deals if you know how to bargain. There are water markets that are located on the River. There is also 15 world class malls located around Bangkok; these include the Future Park and Fashion Island Rangsit malls. There is always something to do in Thailand.
