    If you have decided to travel to the beautiful location of Bangkok, Thailand, there are many exciting things to see. Sight seeing is one of the best activities that Bangkok has to offer in the way of tourism. Thousands of people enjoy sight seeing there very year. They have a wide range of things to see. There are sacred Temples, boating tours, shopping and great cuisine from their many restaurants. If you are planning a trip or are just considering it, then here are some things that might sway you into visiting beautiful Thailand.

One of the most popular activities in Thailand are boating tours, these tours can be taken by the public ferry or you can charter your own private water taxi. These tours will take down the Chao Phraya River, the sights are amazing, the tours are slow paced so you can take in the sights and enjoy the ride. If you want a more in depth look at the waterways, you can tour the canals or Khlongs as they are called in Thailand. They have earned the reputation of being the Venice of the East because the canals are so long and they offer tours in the stretched boats like you see in Venice, Italy.

If you are looking for some shopping, then look no further than the Chatuchak Weekend Market. This market place is located at the southern end of Chatuchak Park off of the Phanon Yothin. There are about 9,000 booths of what can be described as a lot of fun but a lot is going on. There is a lot of bargaining going on at this very busy market place. There are crafts, flowers, antique, clothes and even herbal remedies. With 9,000 booths you will be able to find something you want. The market place is a weekend place and is open Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 6pm.

If you want to see some other beautiful and sacred places, then the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo is a place you want to visit. This is one of Thailand most spectacular sights. The Palace spreads over 61 cares and has more than 100 palatial buildings that surround the palace. There are golden stupas, 20 foot sculpted demons and beautiful WATS or Temples as they are commonly known as. The buildings have stood the test of time, being built about 300 years ago. The most sacred sight is located here, it is the Wat Phra Kheo, and it is a Buddhist Temple, one of the most sacred and respected Temples in all of Thailand. This location has many buildings in its complex and the main building you want to see is the home to most respected Emerald Buddha. This Temple is so scared that you must dress moderately, casual but no bare knees or shoulders and you must wear closed shoes, flip flops or sandals are not acceptable. Once inside you want t seek out the tiny Jade Buddha, it stands a little over 2 feet tall and the statue is so sacred that the King himself changes the clothes for each new season. It is really something you cannot miss.
